Admission
Information for all the ADVIS schools
How do I choose the right school for my child?

Prospective families are encouraged to visit several schools and talk to admission directors. Each school is a unique community, and a "good match" between student and school is an important goal of the admission process. Please call or write directors of admission, or contact them online through this web site. Most ADVIS schools have web sites, which are listed in our database, and will provide you with additional information regarding each school. ADVIS Schools conform to admissions standards and guidelines of good practice, which you might also like to review.

Contacting Directors of Admission Please call, write, fax, or e-mail directors of admission at specific schools to request literature, advice, and admissions materials. The schools’ admissions offices are eager to provide information about their schools.

How does a family apply?

After you have found schools that might be appropriate, we advise you to call, write, e-mail, or fax several schools and ask for their literature. Most schools will request a visit to the campus to meet with the admission director. At that time, prospective parents can review the application procedure and ask questions about applying, financial arrangements, and school programs.

When are applications due?

Applications should be submitted in the fall preceding the September of the student’s admission. In many schools, however, applications are considered throughout the year depending on available space.

How can I afford independent school tuition?

Need-based financial aid is available at many schools, and some award merit scholarships. Budget plans, loan programs, and other finance options exist to make independent schools affordable. In recent years ADVIS school have awarded over $64 million in financial aid. Admissions directors can provide information and answers to your financial questions.

The schools listed herein admit students of any race, color, national and ethic origin to the rights, privileges, programs and activities available to all students at the school. They do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethic origin in the administration of their education policies, admission policies, financial aid programs, athletic programs, or other school administered programs.

ADVIS member schools are state licensed and, in most cases, accredited. Accreditation has been earned through a rigorous evaluation process with one or more of the following agencies: MSAC&S (Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools), PAPAS (Pennsylvania Association of Private Academic Schools), or NJAIS (New Jersey Association of Independent Schools).
