Benefits of ADVIS Membership
ADVIS is proud to be widely considered “the best value in town” by our member schools. We are committed to making ADVIS membership the very best investment schools can make for the professional development of your administrative staff and trustees, and the advancement of your school.

Professional development for administrators and trustees, and marketing and advocacy for our member schools and independent education in general, are the two major components of our mission. We produce approximately 30 professional development workshops per year for administrators and trustees in order to strengthen and sustain our schools. And we work proactively to leverage social networking, the web, broadcast, and other media to promote ADVIS and our website as the go-to resource and portal to learn about the GREAT schools in the Greater Delaware Valley -- our schools!

Highlights of the Value of ADVIS Membership

  • 30 (+/-) local professional development programs per year for administrators and trustees, many at no charge, the balance for a minimal fee.
  • Inclusion in the ADVIS Notice of Nondiscriminatory Policy as to Students, published in major newspapers throughout our region, as required by the IRS to maintain 501(c)(3) status.
  • Five (5) copies of the ADVIS Membership & Resource Directory, with contact information for the key administrators of all member schools.
  • Inclusion of all key administrators in the ADVIS Virtual Learning Community (Ning) which facilitates sharing of resources, information and learning among ADVIS administrators.
  • Inclusion of and link to your school on the ADVIS website, which we promote as the go-to resource about independent education and our member schools in the Greater Delaware Valley.
  • Participation in and access to collaborative projects and special services, such as ADVIS’ Confidential Common Recommendation Form, Open House and Notification Dates Survey (which will be posted on the ADVIS website and updated regularly), and “quick pulse-read” admissions and development surveys (results summarized and shared with appropriate administrators, as needed).
  • Ongoing advocacy and marketing with the local media, opinion leaders, and the general public on behalf of all member schools.
  • Free use of ADVIS' membership in The Foundation Center's Associates Program (for donor prospect research).
  • Access to and support for NAIS' StatsOnline service for individual school benchmarking capability and association statistics.
  • Use of "In Support of Independent Education” brochures, which make the case for Annual Giving.
  • Posting of open administrative positions in your school on the ADVIS website (no charge).
  • Review and approval of comprehensive School Technology Plans in order to qualify for E-Rate funding (no charge).

From my perspective, ADVIS understands its mission and remains true to it better than any other organization we belong to -- thanks for being there for our schools. It matters.
