Communications Manager for Woodlynde School    

Woodlynde School, the 35-year old Main Line college prep school for students with diverse learning styles, has an immediate opening for Communications Manager to manage the School's comprehensive and integrated marketing, advertising, public relations and communications plan.  

Responsibilities include the creation of print and electronic publications, e-newsletters, invitations, flyers and other marketing materials; web site graphic, picture and content updates using a content management system; social media; press releases and media alerts; and photography of school activities.  

Strong writing skills and experience with video editing and/or graphic design, Constant Contact, Photoshop and Raisers Edge or equivalent required.  3 to 5 years of experience in a non-profit marketing, development or advancement environment required.

Website & Visual Assets Coordinator    
The Position
The Baldwin School is seeking a creative, detail-oriented and strategic person to serve as the Website and Visual Assets Coordinator for one of the region’s oldest and most prestigious independent schools for girls from pre-K through 12thgrade. The Website and Visual Asset Coordinator is responsible for the design, content and performance of the School’s website in addition to creating and maintaining an asset library of visual and written communications. The position reports to the Director of Marketing. 
 
Qualifications
The candidate must have a minimum of two years of related experience and a B.A. or equivalent degree. The candidate must be proficient in content management systems (CMS) and website design and have experience with website metrics tools including Google Analytics. The successful candidate will also have experience with the following programs and technology: HTML, CSS, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Pagemaker or InDesign. Experience in Flash/Actionscript is desired. The candidate must be a good communicator with strong technical, design, verbal and writing skills and take a team approach to customer service. Education experience is a plus.

Core Responsibilities
 
Web Design and Coordination (40%)
  • Provides design and content assistance for the School’s website, working with staff, faculty and parent content managers;
  • Monitors the website’s functionality and content to ensure the site is current, comprehensive and visually inviting;
  • Directs, develops and designs key web content for marketing and communications, in addition to building content for events and key activities at the School;  
  • Serves as liaison between the Marketing and IT departments to resolve non-technical issues related to the website;
  • Coordinates the process of adding and updating information to the website and intranet and provides non-technical content and publishing support and counsel to faculty, staff, parents and other key constituents;
  • Provides content management and SEO training for content managers;
  • Assists in the creation and/or outsourcing of additional digital media.
Analytics and Strategy (20%)
  • Working with the Communications Officer, monitors site traffic and reports on constituent needs, preferences, and uses of all of the School’s electronic communications tools, including the website, email systems, SEM programs and social media outreach;
  • Assists in the development, implementation and analyses of effectiveness of SEM and SEO programs and tracked advertising initiatives;
Visual Assets Management (20%)
  • Creates and maintains a content library for the School including approved 25-50-100 word summaries of programs;
  • Manages the School’s visual assets including but not limited to photography, videography and podcasts;
  • Serves as the primary photographer and videographer and provides photo and video editing support for the marketing and communications department.
Digital Design Functions (20%)
  • Provides digital design services for electronic communications and website;
  • Designs and maintains electronic templates for the School including but not limited to PowerPoint and electronic signage;
  • Provides in-house graphic support to marketing and communications, in addition to supporting branding initiatives;
  • Creation of html email templates and related design support.
