For Heads of School and Board Chairs/Clerks
5:00 PM to 8:30 PM
This annual program is designed for the Head/Board Chair team to attend together. The session will be facilitated by Skip Kotkins from Carney Sandoe & Associates. A former business leader, Skip has chaired eight different non-profit boards, has served as a trustee and officer of both NWAIS (an ADVIS sister association) and NAIS (our national association). Dinner will be a time for networking among all heads and board chairs. This program is open to heads and their board chair or clerk.
It is strongly encouraged that heads and board chairs/clerks attend together.
Skip Kotkins, Senior Search Consultant,
Carney, Sandoe & Associates
Skip graduated from the Lakeside School; from Williams College with a B.A. in American Civilization; from Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration with an MBA. He graduated from Washington Military Academy and served in the Washington Army National Guard. Skip worked at Skyway Luggage Company from 1965-2012, including as Director of Planning, Vice President, President & CEO, and Chairman & CEO, and went on to lead SWL Holdings, Inc., Skyway's successor, as its Chairman.
Skip's past and current board leadership includes Pacific Northwest Association of Independent Schools, National Association of Independent Schools, Seattle Repertory Theater, Lakeside School, Travelgoods Association, Washington Council on International Trade, Rotary Club of Seattle, Temple De Hirsch Sinai, Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, and Young Presidents Organization, Pacific Northwest Chapter. He has also worked closely with the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Rainier National Bank and Rainier Banccorporation, Security Pacific Bank Washington, Bank of America, ABM Industries, Cutter and Buck, and Industry Trade Advisory Committee, and has chaired six search committees for executives of non-profit organizations.
Fee: $60 per person for ADVIS member schools. $200 for non members. Payment should be made by check or credit card in advance of the program.
Deadline to register: Thursday, April 9th.
