Professional Bio

Kim Wargo is Head of School of The Lab School of Washington, a role she has held since July 2020. Kim has worked in independent schools for three decades. Prior to her headship at Lab, Kim was head of Katherine Delmar Burke School in San Francisco, The Hockaday School in Dallas, and GEMS World Academy in Chicago. She was Upper School Head at Louise S. McGehee School and Associate Head of School at Isidore Newman School, both in New Orleans, which is her hometown. Kim serves on the board of The Heads Network, the Association of Independent Schools of Greater Washington, and the Langley School, and previously served as a board member of ERB, the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest, the Southwest Preparatory Athletic Conference, The Tate Lecture Series of Southern Methodist University, and Aim High in San Francisco.
