Get ready to "circle up" and "choose joy!"

Liz Crockett Jones is a seasoned educator and community builder with nearly three decades of classroom teaching experience at William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia. A graduate of Duke University with a B.A. in English Literature, Liz has dedicated her career to nurturing students academically, emotionally, and spiritually while fostering meaningful relationships across school communities—with administrators, faculty, parents, as well as students.

Most recently, Liz served at Penn Charter as the Restorative Practices Coordinator, where she was intentional about building community. Liz takes great joy in creating proactive circles for students and faculty to deepen their relationships. Aside from the 80% of building community, Liz also is skilled in restorative justice, crafting personalized learning moments for students who are repairing harm in the community. Liz's approach with restorative practices helps support accountability and strengthen community.

Grounded in faith-based principles and aligned with Quaker values, Liz approaches her work with a commitment to seeing the whole person. She has contributed broadly to the Penn Charter community through leadership roles including the Religious Life Committee, the Committee on Teaching and Learning, and the school’s Faculty Mentoring Program, where she supports and advises new faculty members. She also previously served on the Race & Equity Task Force, helping develop strategies for transparent communication with families during bias-related incidents.

Liz will complete a Graduate Certificate Program in Restorative Practices from the International Institute for Restorative Practices in August 2026. Across her roles as educator, mentor, leader, and curriculum designer, Liz invites everyone to circle up and choose joy.
