Matthew Heckendorn

Matthew A. Heckendorn, AIA, LEED AP, is President of Heckendorn Shiles Architects. Matt’s professional design experience encompasses a wide variety of project and facility types, with a special emphasis on Pre-K to 12 educational environments – encompassing Architecture, Interior Design and Campus Planning. This emphasis includes uncommon and long term focus on Neuroinclusive environments. Matt has lectured extensively to industry leaders, delivering seminars at NeoCon, CCCCP's Master Builders Dialogues, Jefferson University Neurodiversity and the Built Environment Conference, Forum for Architecture and Design, Design on the Delaware, Greenbuild, Pennsylvania Brownfields Conference, the Urban Land Institute, and the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. Matt has also served as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Drexel University as well as a past member of the Haverford Township Planning Commission and co-chair of the 2016 AIA National Convention Tours Committee, and committee membership for Greenbuild 2013 Convention in Philadelphia.
